Thames Path - Blackfriars to Vauxhall

Date of Walk:  11 June 2013
Approx Distance of Walk: 4 km (2.5 miles)
 Parking/Transport: Transport for London
Starting Point: Blackfriars Bridge, London.
Finishing Point: Vauxhall Bridge, London

After attending a seminar in London one day we decided to get some fresh air afterwards and walk another part of the Thames Path. From the seminar venue in the city we walked down to meet the river at Balckfrairs Bridge.

To begin we we walked along the north bank in a westerly direction.

It was a cool and blustery day, considering it was the middle of June, and the river looked quite choppy.

As we crossed at Waterloo Bridge, we looked back eastwards with a view of the city and even Canary Wharf in the far distance.

Here was a quirky display outside the South Bank Centre.

We walked along the south bank, past the Royal Festival Hall, Hungerford Bridge...

...and the London Eye.

Soon we approached Westminster Bridge, and Big Ben loomed up towards the low clouds.

The next bridge was Lambeth Bridge.

The final bridge on this short walk was Vauxhall Bridge. Just before that (on the left of the picture, with the rounded front) is the MI6 building. The very tall building beyond the bridge is St Georges Wharf Tower.

Having reached the bridge, we made our way home starting from Vauxhall tube station.

  1. Looks like it was quite a grey day. Cool weather is nice for a brisk walk.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it.
