Craft Group - old favourites and new skills

At our Operation Christmas Child Craft Group this month, we had a mix of making some old favourites and learning a new skill.

The old favourite was making pencil cases using felt pieces. We do this every year because having educational supplies in shoeboxes is an important part of the gift. So having somewhere to keep a collection of pens, pencils and other stationery is important too.

We had a pack of brightly coloured felt and plenty of bright threads to sew them with.

Needles and ribbons.

And of course, a nice cup of tea helps the proceedings!

A very neat pencil case was the end result.

One of our members, Alison, has made some lovely macrame bracelets as shoebox gifts.

Here is a little bracelet...

 ... and another....

... and here a matching necklace and bracelet, all neatly packaged together.

She said she would show anyone who wished how to make these, so some of us had a go.

Like all new things, it was a little slow at first...

... but we gradually got the hang of it.

So after a little while....

... our bracelets were finished.

Thank you Alison, for preparing this lesson for us. It is always nice to try out a new craft, isn't it?

  1. Sounds like a fun time getting together and sharing tea while crafting for others. Bless you all.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it.
