Maidenhead OCC Craft Group

Our monthly craft group got together once again this week, to make items to go into Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. This month we revived an old favourite - making beaded jewellery.

To make the necklaces and bracelets a little bit more of a 'gift', we like to mount them on a card and wrap them in sellophane. Old greetings cards, with the backs cut off and cut to a suitable size are what we use to mount the jewellery on. The sellophane is also recycled from greeting card wrappers. (Tip: cut the card to the wrapper size, rather than trying to find a wrapper to fit the card!)

I love the way this little mouse is peeping out between the beads!

And this little teddy bear card matches the necklace and bracelet perfectly!

I'd like to thank our ladies for coming once again, and we look forward to seeing a few more of you next month!

  1. All little girls love dressing up don't they? They're really pretty and what a great idea to mount them on cards!

  2. A very innovative way of mounting the necklaces! I may have to try this idea myself!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it.
