Today I received a lovely parcel in the post from the generous and inspiring Chalky. She had a giveaway recently to celebrate her one year's blogging, and I was so happy to find a little parcel when I came home this morning. Look what was inside!
(Somehow my camera wanted to make the paper blue, not pink. It does seem to get confused when it comes to blues and purples and pinks, I don't know why. Maybe I'll write to Santa for a new one. But I digress..)
Inside the pretty pink paper, this! (Yes, this is blue.)
What a delicate combination of blues and lilacs - my favourite colours! Aren't they just beautiful?
Of course Chalky knows that I'll be using it for puppet production, and other little gifts for shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child! But I think she must be a bit psychic, because I have been looking for some nice pretty bright wool for my next (and final) set of puppets, to complement some bobbly but somewhat colourless yarn I am using. This ball fits the bill perfectly, and will be started immediately after I have finished my current puppet, number 92. (There will only be 9 in this final set because I made 11 in the last set, for reasons you can read in my previous post. My goal is to make 100 puppets each year for this charity, so not far to go now.)
Thank you so much Linda, for this thoughtful gift, and for your uplifting and always interesting blog! Do visit her on Chalky's World if you haven't already done so, you're in for a treat!
