Craft Afternoon for OCC

Yesterday was our monthly craft afternoon when an enthusiastic group of crafters gets together in a local church hall to make gifts to fill shoeboxes for the Operation Christmas Child Appeal. This month we were led by a talented lady called Teresa, who helped us to decorate notebooks. She generously provides all the materials, makes the books (filled with blank pages for drawing) and gives us loads of inspiration.

There's so much fun to be had decorating the colourful books, it's hard to know what to lay your hands on next! Shall I stick a pig on here, another ribbon there, or maybe have a go at this friendship bracelet?

Of course, Maggie, as usual, is busy wrapping up some shoeboxes - a vital task. She's so good at it - definitely the expert!

And some of us made felt pencil cases to go with the notebooks.

A really fun afternoon's work to bring some smiles and brightness into a child's life at Christmas time.

  1. Sympathise about the skips - here's a joke to cheer you up!

Jack was sat at home thinking.....what can i do to improve the house?...... ahhh some DIY needs to be done, like knocking down the old garage.... but where will i put the mess after its been knocked down?...ohh yes a skip from the council would do he thought. so later on jack rings the council " I'd like to ask you could i have a skip outside my house?" he inquired, the council worker on the phone took a few seconds pause " you can cartwheel around the block for all i care"

  2. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL-- What a lovely way to spend an afternoon and what lucky children

  3. How lovely it would be to see the faces of the little ones who receive such wonderful gifts!

  4. Lovely piccies of the notebooks. Great they got so many done! Very very kind of Teresa!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it.
